The decision to make a .eu domain was taken exactly a year ago, not today!

By the way: the EC will make it's decision of the .eu operator public soon. Rumored is that it will be the Brussels based eurid.org.

Not many of these really jump out at me as an English speaker, but a lot of them seem to be derived from French -- implying that Francophones could possibly have a lot of words with a "-eu" suffix.

I'm french, and i have no idea :) and it seems to only appears in strange lists of words in weird newsgroups like alt.revisionism, alt.flame.niggers alt.religion.scientology, or really strange pages [micronet.org] :)

Googling for Archboutefeu returns only 20 hits or so, nearly all of which seem to just be random copies of /usr/dict/words etc online. Weird.

On a guess, I tried deleting "arch-" and got some more results, including [bootlegbooks.com]:
